  • What exactly is lifestyle health coaching and how does it work?

    It is a program of talking therapy to move you forward in life and health. I am your accountability coach and your support. I provide education and motivation to help  you to change. It uses motivational interviewing and other positive psychology techniques to create long lasting change that work (See ACI website).The support, education, and accountability help build a new habit, and combined with expert education, will help you to develop and keep healthy lifestyle habits.


    Lifestyle Health Coaching is an evidence based new modality and is called 'lifestyle medicine'. 


    I focus on not just wellness but PREVENTION of chronic physical and mental health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and stroke, anxiety and stress. I particularly love helping parents and carers as there is 40% greater chance of chronic disease, including heart attack/heart disease, cancer, diabetes and arthritis, back pain and depression than the general population (Carers NSW & Caregiver.org). As a parent carer myself I understand and also have lived experience of the daily struggles. I know that when you're struggling to look after yourself, you are also struggling to care for those you support.


    Some of the things I can help with include, reducing blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar levels and insulin resistance, stress  anxiety and depression levels, weight & waist circumference, improving dietary choices ,committing to regular exercise, and improving sleep. I can help you quit smoking, and quit or reduce alcohol consumption, and help with taking a break for yourself. I can even help with connecting you to support to prevent isolation.


    I assess the whole picture to gain an in depth assessment of your current situation and health, and advise you of any issues that you may be best to get help with .


    I can do a comprehensive health assessment, which may highlight hidden causes of anxiety, stress, depression or fatigue, and help you get the tests you need to get a diagnosis and treatment quickly.


     I can work remotely with your GP or other specialist.


    I can easily help you build new healthy habits that will fit in with your family, lifestyle and responsibilities.


    I also provide additional services  to reduce the stress and strain on families.

  • Who is Health coaching for?

    Anyone, parent or carer, who is stressed, maybe having some health issues, needs to lose weight/ get fit/ eat better and be able to maintain it. In fact anyone who wants to change their health and feel better,  and need to feel in control again. And with your busy stressful life, needs the motivation accountability & support to do it. 

  • How do I get started?

    Just book a free 30 min chat through my website homepage. If you're happy to proceed, I will send you an invoice and arrange date to start ASAP.

  • What is the cost?

    As a parent carer if you have NDIS for a dependent child  and you are plan or self managed you can claim for this. You can also contact me for a letter to ask for this in your next plan or to access this through your current plan.

    1 x initial assessment $80

    12 x  weekly sessions of $80 per session. 

    Payments can be taken over the phone via square.

     Australia wide including remote areas via telephone & video call

    In person consultations within Newcastle and Lake Macquarie
